Clearly topics of interest even today about the "two-party system we have today." For me, it was a great book to ponder and I liked how the author, his wife, and dog became a part of the story.Īnna Banana Kruchten Phoenix Broker - It was the perfect book and I finished reading it early this morning in celebration of President's Day. All in all, for me, it was educational and interesting. The Author notes: "Part of it was Washington's seemingly naive hope that differences of political opinion could be discussed without forcing otherwise reasonable people to choose opposite sides." The book touches a lot on slavery too. In addition there was friction and political divide among politicians, such as Thomas Jefferson and Washington.
